was the Aztec god linked to daylight, clear thinking
and a good life. As Quetzacoatl-Ehecatl he was
lord of the morning winds that bring light to the fields.
The mask represents Quetzalcoatl bursting forth from
the jaws of a coyote, representing life springing from
the Earth. In the form of a priest he was a man painted
black with a long beard.
