Clay Pottery Masks by Felipe Perez Aygn

I found these incredible masks laying on a blanket

at an outdoor market.  They are wood-fired Mexican

clay pottery and are ready to hang, either indoors or

outside in the garden or by the pool.

The masks varied in size greatly, so I brought back

2 very large masks, and 2 small ones.  I have

put large photos of all four below.

Tears of The Indians

Large

I am always amazed and delighted to see art

forms that demonstrate how closely connected

are Indian and Asian art. There is a true sadness

in this mask,  It is magnificent.

Mask is 23" tall  and  15" wide

It weighs 9 lbs. before packing.

It is ready to hang.

#3501 Tears

  $30

Sun-Moon Mask

Large

The Sun-Moon is a popular and pervasive theme in Mexican

folkart.  I thought this one was especially pretty and

detailed.  The colors are rich and inviting.

The mask is 20" tall and 19" wide.

It weighs 14 lbs. before packing.

It is ready to hang.

#3502 Sun & Moon
  $34

Medicine Man Mask

Small

This small elegant mask has the calm direct gaze

of a healer.  The head cap and decoration is simple

and clean.

The mask is 12" tall and 7" wide.

It weighs 3 lbs. before packing.

It is ready to hang.

#3503 Medicine Mask
  $12.00

The Warrior

This fellow, with his red headress and strong brow,

is the warrior.  This is a mask that is not styalized,

but is cut open so eyes can see through.  The mouth is

open in a shout.  This is a battle mask.

This mask is 12" tall and 9" wide.

It weighs 3 lbs. before packing.

It is ready to hang.

#3504 The Warrior
