The "Circle"
motif has been around for a long time in Mexico. This
pot, which I call Mayan, is rustic and has a gentle crockery
feel. The color is a burnished red-clay earthtone.
It would look wonderful on a patio or in a sunroom with stalks
of died wheat or reeds in it.
This pot is wood fired, and is made from the clay liga in the area.
The pot is 12" in diameter. It is roughly 10" tall.
Top opening is 3.5". There is no drain hole, but I have very carefully
used an ice pick and gently tapped with a hammer to open a small
hole in pots like these without cracking the pot - as it is earth clay and more forgiving.
