What a beautiful, elegant, whimsical critter is the Sea Horse.

Our Sea-Horse family is a true likeness of those magical critters.
The National Geographic website tells us that they are monogamous and
mate for life. Rarer still, they are among the only animal species on Earth
in which the male bears the unborn young.
They are found in shallow tropical and temperate waters throughout the world,
and due to excessive harvesting for Asian traditional medicine many species are
now vulnerable to extinction.
Carlos has again worked his magic, giving us a Dad seahorse right after
the babies are born. The Dad is 16" tall, 9" wide, and about 3" tall. The babies
are about 5 1/2" tall. |
